2011 Kids' Derby Rules

KIDS DERBY RULES
- Contestant must be 12 years old or younger.
- Fish caught during the Kid’s Derby will be weighed in at the registration area for the Derby. Kid’s Derby fish are also eligible for prizes in the Walleye Rodeo.
- Contest hours are from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon. Fish must be weighted in by 12:00 noon.
- Two pole limit per contestant.
- Fish must be caught in the designated area of the Canadian Area. Check with Wildlife Department at the registration area for boundaries.
- No fish caught before starting time may be entered in the Kid’s Derby.
- Fish must be caught and retrieved by the contestant. Adults may assist with pole setup, baiting and casting.
- Check with Wildlife Department at registration for specific length limit requirements.
- Violation of rules will disqualify fish from Derby.
- Contestant may continue to participate unless notified otherwise by Derby officials or Wildlife Department.
- Contestant can only place once. One prize per contestant.
- Award winners must be present at the award’s ceremony to receive prize (1:30 pm on Sunday at the Weight Station).
- Contestants may only win one lifetime fishing license from the Walleye Rodeo Association.
- Contestants are encouraged but not required to attend the Awards Ceremony to be eligible for lifetime fishing license drawing. Nonresidents are not eligible for the lifetime license drawing.
